Summit Artistic Partners provides fractional artistic direction for classical music festivals, concert series and presenting organizations.

Led by Joshua Gindele and Nicholas Tzavaras, Summit gives organizations the artistic leadership of experienced, internationally recognized artists on a part-time basis — helping boards, directors and founders shape an ambitious vision, then bring it to life through seasons, artists and the unmistakable voice of the institution itself.

Artistic leadership for institutions built to last.

Every organization reaches a moment when its artistic leadership must change, deepen or rise.

A beloved founder prepares to step away. A festival grows faster than its artistic plan. A board senses the next decade should be greater, but cannot yet name what greater sounds like.

Summit exists for those moments.

We serve as a true artistic partner: shaping season architecture, identifying and engaging artists, supporting boards and donors, guiding succession and helping organizations build artistic identities that are distinctive, sustainable and worthy of the communities they serve.

Who We Serve

Summit works with classical music festivals, concert series and presenting organizations seeking senior artistic leadership without the cost or permanence of a full-time artistic director.

We are especially suited for organizations facing:

  • Founder or artistic director succession

  • A need for stronger season planning and artistic identity

  • Growth beyond the current programming model

  • Board questions about the next chapter

  • Audience renewal without artistic compromise

  • A desire for world-class artistic relationships and judgment

Why Summit

We are not consultants who once performed. We are working artists, artistic leaders and institutional partners.

Between us, we have sat in nearly every seat a season has: soloist, chamber and orchestral player, faculty member, juror, fundraiser, trustee and artistic director. We have toured internationally, recorded widely and built the kind of artist network that allows us to reach nearly anyone an organization might want on stage.

We keep our roster small by design, so every partner receives our real attention.

A Better Path Forward

The usual options are often too thin: a national search that yields résumés but not necessarily fit, or a costly full-time hire that may be more structure than an organization needs.

Summit offers another path: the judgment, relationships and artistic leadership of a seasoned director, sized to the needs of the institution.

Present enough to matter. Flexible enough to last.

If you intend to build something that lasts, let’s talk.

This is not a pitch. It is the start of a conversation about whether your organization and Summit are right for each other.
